Serena Isioma is one of Chicago’s most exciting new talents. ‘King’ is her latest offering, and comes full of fuzzy textures and addictive vocal melodies. Her genre-bending combinations of indie rock, hip-hop, pop and R&B were in full force on her debut EP, Sensitive, but we’re now seeing an even more experimental side as she gears up for the release of The Leo Sun Sets. The accompaniment in ‘King’ is cinematic and thick, allowing for a dreamy wall of sound to fill up every space that doesn’t have Isioma’s magical vocal blaring away.
